The United States use to be known for mind-boggling accomplishments. Between 1941 and 1943 we built the Pentagon while at war with both the Germans and Japanese. The cost of construction was $83 million ($1.3 billion in 2013 dollars) and for decades it was the largest building in the world.
These days our government can't even build a website. The projected cost of the Obamacare website was $93 million. The actual cost was $634 million, or about half the cost of the Pentagon.
