Everyone knows what "Skype" is, but do you know where it was developed? If you said the United States you'd be wrong. The answer is Estonia. And if someone asked you who has the faster internet speeds, the US or Estonia, what would you say? Suprise, suprise, suprise. It's Estonia. All thanks to the crony capitalism of The 1996 Telecommunications Act. Yup, the politicians and the cable and telecom companies all got together back then and decided to screw all us folks that live in the country that practically invented the internet. And if you don't believe me, you can read all about it here.Oh, and by the way, what it costs to use the internet here in the USA is way more than what the folks in Estonia and a whole lot of other countries are paying.
