Big Government Hypocrisy


According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center only 33% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the federal government.  Ten years ago the favorable rating was nearly twice that.  Many blame much of the decline on the financial crisis but I blame it on big government stupidity.  There's some speculation that Ben Stein ever said the following, but I think it sums things up nicely...

R.I.P. Andy Williams

I was a teenager during the 1960s and needless to say I have a lot of memories of a lot of T.V. shows waaay back then.  I can remember watching a whole lot of "The Andy William's Show" and my favorites were the "Andy Williams Christmas Specials".  Thanks for the memories Mr. Williams.

The headline of the article read, "Ten Bizarre Restaurants To Eat In Before You Die".  They were located all over the world, but the one located in Taipei, Taiwan I crossed off my list right off the bat.  Here is a picture of this "unique" place to eat and a description below...


No, it’s not a joke, it’s a hit in Taipei where diners line up – not because they are waiting to get to the loo but waiting to get a chance to dine while sitting on commodes, using toilet paper for napkins and getting their drinks from sink faucets.
Even some of the Modern Toilet‘s tables are glass-topped bathtubs and the dishes are served in tureens that resemble mini-toilet bowls. One must assume that the food is appetizing enough to overcome the decidedly unappealing atmosphere.

Several days ago it was reported that President Obama refused to meet with Isreali Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the PM's upcoming visit to the United Nations.  The White House said a meeting would not fit into the President's schedule.



Today, I ran across this on Twitter @ IntelTweet..."the facts show the involvement of Jews in [a US-made anti-Islam film] and they are the source of all blasphemy".

Obama and Netanyahu don't hate each other.  They just can't stand each other's guts.

Could it be Glenn Beck has mellowed to the point of having second thoughts about his many flaming comments concerning Islam.  "The Blaze" has published an article, "Who Are Muslims And What Do They Believe.  The History Surrounding Muhammad & Islam".

If you you have the time it is a well written introduction to Islam. The editor's note indicates the article will be part of a mini-series about Islam.What's most interesting is the conclusion.  Maybe the bright red flame of the Blaze is becoming a little mellow yellow...






CONCLUSION
Studying Islam isn’t a simple task, particularly in today’s world, where the faith is so intimately attached to emotionally-charged political events. Perhaps the most important element to remember is that, like any faith, there are a multitude of interpretations associated with Islam. Context, specifically culture and geographic location, plays a key role in shaping how Muslims practice, observe and view their faith.
Unfortunately, there are a plethora of radicalized sects who take the “lesser jihad” to mean that they must murder, pillage and use destruction to force conversions and to destroy seemingly negative influences — particularly the West and Israel. But, as we will continue to explore, the complicated nature of the situation requires a fair and balanced look at the religion’s central tenets and of the many groups that comprise it.

How To Loose Weight In The Shower


This is for you folks out there that have been trying to loose weight and just can't seem to make it happen.  Well, the problem just might be the shampoo you're using.

Think about it.  When you shampoo your hair while you're in the shower, the soap runs down all over your body...right?  And I'll bet that somewhere on that bottle of shampoo you're using it says, "for extra volume and body"...right?    

DAAAHH !  Your body needs less volume, not more.

Don't worry, I've got the answer.  Use "Dawn" dish washing soap in the shower to shampoo your hair.  I'm not kidding.  It says right on the bottle, "dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove".

What Clinton's DNC Speech Means

Reactions to Bill Clinton's speech at the Democrat National Convention the other evening were what you'd expect.  Democrats called it, "amazing", "awesome", "fantastic", and "best speech ever".  Republicans called it, "boring", "rehash", "overly wonky", "sprawling", and "a giant swing and a miss".  


Personally speaking, I'm still trying to figure out what he meant every time he used the word "is".

What November 6th Is All About

Some say the Democrat National Convention started off with a bang the other evening.  Others say it was more like a thud.  The fairly loud buzz has to do with a kick off video produced by the host city of Charlotte entitled "Welcome To Charlotte".  In the video the narrator makes the statement, "Government is the only thing we all belong to".  Mitt Romney immediately jumped on the statement and tweeted, "We don't belong to the government, the government belongs to us".  An Obama aide followed that up with an email stating, "the Charlotte host committee, not the Obama campaign, produced the video.  Pundits have called the video a disaster, a blunder, and down right creepy in light of the fact that any reference to "God" has been dropped from the official Democrat Party Platform.

Make no mistake, this is what November 6th is all about.  The Democrat's message is, we "BELONG" to the government and the Republican's message is, the government "BELONGS" to us.  

And if you read this blog on a regular basis, perhaps all this sounds vaguely  familiar.  Last month I posted a quote by a well respected Democrat from the not too distant past, and I said it was what November 6th is all about...

When the day comes that any and all references to "God" are dropped completely by our government, that is the day we will "BELONG" to the government and it will no longer belong to "US".
