They're Coming To Get Me And You

Why does a gun go "Bang"?  The answer is easy.  It's because you pull the trigger.  And no matter what kind of gun you own, when you pull the trigger it goes bang.  Now let me ask you this.  Why did Adam Lanza and Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold and Seung-Hui Cho kill innocent people?  Not so easy as the first question, is it?  And I've got to believe the more you ponder these names the more you become uncomfortable thinking about them.  The point I'm trying to make is, "Talking about guns is easier than talking about shooters".

In the coming months you will hear the politicians in Washington and in state and local governments discuss ways to prevent what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary.  They'll talk a lot about banning guns because it's easier than talking about that how to identify a potential shooter.  And they'll talk a lot about how to protect society rather than allowing society to protect themselves.

And I'll bet before all's said and done, someone is going to rant and rave about how society is full of wild animals with guns wanting to kill each other and the only way to protect me from you is to send out the elk and the caribou...
